Frequently Asked Questions
High-flex wire, like KinetaFlex™, uses a much finer strand count than standard stranded wire of the same AWG. A standard 18 AWG wire might use 16–19 strands; KinetaFlex™ uses 168 strands. More strands, each thinner, means the conductor bends without individual strands fracturing under repeated stress. The insulation compounds tend to be lower friction, tougher materials like ETFE and PFA.
